Today, let me think, last night I heard the new Bjork record - yeah, the brand new one, and I likes it a lot and I'm trying to think there's always all kinds of stuff going on - I was just in Japan I saw Coldplay, I saw Grandaddy I think both of those are fine. Hum, we saw John Spencer while we were there. I thing there's always plenty of current interesting music always going on. People always complain "oh, the music scene sucks right now" - I never think that. I think there's always something going on. There's always something interesting. Even if there isn't something going on right now there's stuff that was done 30 or 40 years ago that you can always listen to that is new to you. And so I think we are living in the best times even for music apreciation because you got all what's happening right now plus the whole history of music available to you. It's the best times.

É, é. E Rubber Soul também. E Revolver. É.

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band
Hoje, há 40 anos atrás, os Beatles lançaram este disco revolucionário em muitos aspectos. 1º de junho de 1967. Eu ouvi o disco em 97/8 acho, não lembro. Mas lembro que adorei. Foi daqueles discos que eu ouvi milhares de vezes. O que eu achei mais marcante é que não tem aquela pausa básica entre cada música, as canções (acho lindo, canções) fluem sem interrupção. Lucy in the sky with diamonds é a queridinha do disco, mas eu gosto mais de A day in a life, ou When I'm 64. Eu gosto de todas.
Mas qual não foi o meu choque ao ver o Saia Justa dessa semana, que versava justamente sobre este disco e o impacto dele nas apresentadoras, e ficar sabendo que a Marcia Tiburi (protótipo de filósofa descolada??) nunca tinha ouvido o disco até ter (note o "ter") que ouvir para o programa. E, apesar de ser um disco fantasticamente atual, ela, que só conhecia a queridinha Lucy, ainda acha essa a melhor música. Céus. It's getting better all the time.
